Laws of Leadership in Network Marketing [Part 2 of 3]

In this three part series I’ve been sharing my insights and top takeaways from the book The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by John Maxwell.

8. The Law of Intuition

Leaders evaluate everything with a leadership bias. They see trends, resources, problems and can read people.

I believe that we all have the gift of intuition. It’s something we can tap into if we show up fully present with the people we are with.

I’ve also found personally that the more I “go with my gut” and follow the pull of intuition, the more I seem to become aware of things and people around me.

9. The Law of Magnetism

This law simply states that we attract people like ourselves. If you don’t feel like you are attracting leaders into your business, you might need to do a little self work first!

Grow yourself and you’ll attract better and better people into your business.

10. The Law of Connection

The law of connection teaches that you must touch the heart before you ask people to follow you.

I love that in network marketing we help new builders discover their WHY. A great way to connect with people coming into your team on a deeper level is to dig deeper into their why.

For example if someones says “I want to do this so I can have more money”, ask them why they want more money. As you dig deeper into layers of their WHY you’ll discover that all of us have powerful emotions that drive us to do everything we do. Discovering those emotions is a powerful way to connect with your team members.

11. The Law of the Inner Circle

This law teaches us that a leader’s potential is determined by those closest to him.

“A leader finds greatness in the group, and helps the members find it in themselves.”

12. The Law of Empowerment

Only secure leaders give power to others. Here are two quotes to ponder on the law of empowerment:

“Great things can happen when you don’t care who get the credit.” – John Maxwell

“Great leaders gain authority by giving it away.” – John Maxwell

13. The Law of Reproduction

It takes a leader to raise up a leader. Followers can’t do it, and neither can institutional programs.

Your company or team system of duplication will be great for getting people in your business launched but leadership is a bit trickier to learn.

Leaders create leaders. “It takes one to know one, to show one, to grow one.” – John Maxwell

14. The Law of Buy-In

You’ve likely heard before that people don’t buy into the idea of just the company, product or vision. They buy into PEOPLE. Hopefully you 😉

If they don’t like the leader but they like the vision they will simply get a new leader…

Network marketing is a relationships business. Never forget that! =)
